How can I tell if I could benefit from therapy?
If you’ve encountered a difficult life event, relationship problem, or noticed you aren’t succeeding or thriving personally or professionally, psychotherapy may be helpful to you. |

Welcome. I am Stephanie Swales, a psychoanalyst and licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Dallas where I teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. I am trained to listen and intervene in a way that can have many benefits, including relief from suffering and substantive, lasting changes such as personal growth, increased relationship satisfaction and life fulfillment, and an improved ability to work and succeed.
Words have the power both to hurt and to heal. Psychotherapy works best when you feel free to express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences — including the ones that might feel difficult to put into words.
I practice in Dallas, Texas, offering in-person and virtual sessions. I am also able to provide virtual sessions to participating states through my having obtained an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission. Click here to see the current participating states.
